MELVIN LEDFORD HAYESVILLE - Melvin Theodore Ledford, 86, died early Wednesday morning In a Franklin hospital, April 19, following a two weeks Illness. Services were held st 4 p.m. Thursday in OldShootlng Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Jsck Thompson and the Rev. Cecil Garrett officiated, and burial was In the church cemetery. Mr. Ledford is a native of Clay County, the son of the late John and Sarah Daven port Ledford. He was a re tired farmer and carpenter and a member of the Mission HU1 Baptist Church. TRUETT ANDREWS - Mrs. Kather lne Elizabeth Truett, 94, of Andrews died Tuesday night. April 18 at her home, after a long Illness. She has been a member of Valley River Baptist Church for 77 years. Known as "Aunt Kate", she was a native of Andrews, a daughter of the late Berry and Joyce Weaver White. Surviving are two daugh ters, Mrs. Grover Farr of Marble and Mrs. Florence Arrowood of Andrews; four sons, Luther, Dallas and Co lumbus of Andrews, and Bronce of Nebo; 29 grand children and two great-grand children. Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday In Valley River Baptist Church. The Rev. J Im Truett and the Rev. Homer Wilson officiated, and burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday In Old Martins Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Fred Stiles, the Rev. Lee Chastaln and the Rev. Wayne Crisp officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.
