Democratic freshman representative from the 21st District, today announced that he will seek re-election to the North Carolina House of Representatives In announcing his candidacy, the year-old Robeson County attorney pledges to continue to represent all the people in Robeson. Hoke, and Scotland counties in a fair and faithful manner During his first term in the Nonh Carolina General Assembly, laicklear was named to seven committees of which were Agriculture. Kducation. Bob Mangum, Director of the Robeson County Church and Commun ity Center has announced his candldan cy for the Robeson County Board of Education, He has served since 1974. Rev. Mangum is married and has three children, two attending schools in the Robeson County School District. He and his family live at Route 1, Pembroke. Rev. Mangum, long active in social and civil programs, pastored churches in Robeson for 18 years before becoming full-time director of the Center in 1976. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary of Ken tucky. Said Mangum, "If re-elected I pledge to urgently pursue suited and practical quality education for all the students from every section of the county system so that each student may have opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential." ' sc.. 1 ? * ' ? f I I Moore Announces for Re-election to Board of Education Herbert Moore Harhert Moore has announced for re-election to the Kobeson County Board of Hducation. Said Moore, "My great concern is for quality education in Kobeson County. "I recognize the continuing pressing need for improved education through out the conntv ty develop better citizens, communities and economic living conditions. "Further, I feel that every channel! should he explored to provide thej educational means to allow every pupil to develop their God given abilities to the fullest potential." Moore has served on the local Advisory Council at Prospect School for IS years, as a member of the Robeson County Board of Education for 5 years, and as a member of the Commission on the Study of Public Schools in Robeson County IWJ-70. He is presently serving as Sunday School Superintendent of Prospect United Methodist Church. During World War II he was with the U.S. Navy. He was one of the organizers in the establishment of the Lumbee Bank and is presently serving on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. He serves on the General Commission on Religion and Race of the United Methodist Church. Moore is a native of Robeson County and lives near Prospect School. He is married to the former Rosie M. I.ocklcar. They have five children: 2 boys enrolled at Prospect School, 1 son at PSU, a son employed with Moore's Chain Saw Service, and a daughter employed by the Robeson County Church and Community Center In Lumberton.
