Special singing was fur nished by the Harpertones. A very large number of persons attended this service. The pastor is the Rev. Steve Jones. Members of the Rock of Bethlehem Church along with their pastor, the Rev. J.W. Campbell, attended the home coming held Sunday, Oct. 8, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Hope Mills. Music and singing was furnished by the Adult Choir and the Youth Quartet accompanied on the guitars by Rev. J.W. Camp bell, Mrs. Vaahti B. Sampson and Mr. Freddie M. Deese and Mr. Rabon Locklear from the Rock of Bethlehem Church. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Will iams and two of their children, Sharon and Frank of Levonia, Mich, spent part of their Call vacation visiting in the home of a sister of Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Henry F. Smith and children of Fourth Street. The group were joined Sunday at the mid-day meal by a brother of Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Sampson and children, Pat, Myra and Scottie of HaHahan, SC. and Mrs. Hilda Faye Hunt. Mr. Williams and son, Frank, accompanied the Samp son home where they will visit for a few days and get in some fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Warren Love, Jr. announce the birth of a daughter, Emily Autumn, who weighed sii pounds and 15 '/i ounces and was 20'/? inches long when bom Sun day, Oct. 8th, at 6:49 a.m. at Southeastern General Hospital of Lumber!on. Emily Autumn is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam W. Love, Sr. of Badin, NC and Mrs. Myrtle Lowery Woodell of Pembroke, and the late Mr. Cliff LOwery. This is Mr. and Mrs. Love's first child. The third Sunday monthly singing at the Rock of Bethle hem Church has been post poned in October due to the homecoming at the Elrod Baptist Church where the singers of Bethlehem will participate in the song service. However, the regular e third Sunday singing will resume on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 2:30 p.m. The pastor is the Rev. J.W. Campbell. The public is in vited by Mr. and Mrs. Alester Sampson to attend. The beautiful fall arrange ment of flowers was furnished Sunday at the Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church in memory of Mrs. Gladys Hardin Locklear by her brother Dr. and Mrs. Benford Hardin and daughters, Alicia and Christie. Mrs. Wilma Sanderson has re- entered Duke Hospital of Durham for further medical treatment. Visiting Mrs. San derson Tuesday was her hus band, Mr. Walter Sanderson, and their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Solomon Sanderson. Mrs. Louise Locklear and her granddaughter Jennifer Locklear spent several days visiting in the home of Mrs. Locklear's sister, Mrs. Ruth Grisham of Winston- Salem. Mrs. Grisham came home with her sister and visited for a few days. While here they visited in the home of thier uncle, Mr. Thaddus Hunt of the Deep Branch community. Mr. Hunt is confined to his home due to illness. A gift of money was donated Sunday to the Mount Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church in honor of the following persons' birthdays: Tracy Elizabeth Bullard for her 3id; Joe Malcolm ft* his 13th; Mr. Leland Osendine for his 31st; and Mr. Tlmmie Jacobs for his 18th. Mr. Jacobs is serving with the U.S. Army and is stationed at Port Dis. New Jersey. He ia the aon of Mr. end Mrs. Lacy Jacobs of Seaboard Street. Mrs. Roger Lowry has re turned home (torn the South eastern General Hospital of Lumberton where she was hospitalised tor several days due to having ha^l surgery. Among the Sunday guests visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bazie Hardin and family were Mrs. Alton Lodtlear and her daughter, Ms. Evelyn Levin er of the New Hope ares. A surprise birthday party was held Saturday night at the Rock of Bethlehem Church in honor of Mr. Alester Samp son's birthday and given by his sister. Mrs. Shirley Smith. Among those who attended was his pastor, the Rev. JW. Campbell, the honotee's wife. Mrs. Vashti B. Sampson, his sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Williams and children Sharon and Frank of Levonia. Mich, and Mrs. Hilda Faye Hunt and son Ronnie, Mr. Trent Barton, Mrs. Mary C. Barton, Mr. Waiter Brewer, Mrs. Desser Graham and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Revels and family. Mrs. Gretchen Hatcher, Mr*. Adell Locktear, Mr*. Patrick Brook* and son Jo-delta Lock lear spent a week visiting in the home of Mrs. Adell Locklear's daughter, Ms. Jo Ann Locklear of Altamonte Springs, Florida. The group went on several sight seeing tours of different places in cluding Sea World at Orlando. Gretchen and Adell report that one of their dreams came true when they went fishing in Florida and caught a large number of fish. Also making the trip were Ms. Sandra Locklear and daughter Bran dy. A family get together was held Sunday, October the 1st at the homes of Mrs. Lillian Lock!ear, formally of Pem broke, and Mr. and Mrs. Went Comatzer of Winston Salem. Mrs. Comatzer is the former ?lenda Locklear. Those attend ing were Mrs. Gladys Samp son, Mr. ad Ms. Van Sampson and family, Mrs. Hazel Lock lear and children, Mrs. Sylvia Ozendine and children, all of Pembroke; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Locklear and family and Mrs. Rachel Sampson and children of Lumberton; and Mrs. Connie Ramsey and children of Fayetteville; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stephens; Mr. and Mrs. Bob England and son of Durham;and Mr. and Mrs. | Gregory Locklear and son of I Winston. After spending tome time in the home of Mrs. Lillian Locklear the group of guests went on to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Comatzer's where dinner was served. At variety of good foods and fellowship were enjoyed by all. And a lot of memories were shared, after which pictures were taken of the group.
