ness Church met Tuesday
night in the home of Mrs.
Mary Etta Brewer. The presi
dent, Mrs. Helen Fsye Lock
leer called the meeting to
order. Prayer was offered by
Mrs. Dora M. Oxen dine who
was also in charge of the
program. The topic was "Wit
nessing for God to win souls."
At the close of the service Mrs.
Brewer was assisted in serving
refreshments by her daughter,
Mrs. Virginia Locklear. Pre

Rev. Harvey Lowry, Sr. The
sermon was the second one he
preached before his death, h

was taken from Jonah, a
servant for his God. The Rev.
Lowiy was a dedicated man to
his church, his family and
community and was pastoring
the above church at the time of
his death. A very large num
ber of relatives and friends
attended, including his wife.
