Each nominee must be nominated by a Jaycette Chapter Ms LockIcar was nominated by the Pembroke Jaycettes She was chosen for the honor because of her outstanding contributions to her community. She is the only woman who serves as a project director for Pembroke's Lumbee Regional Development Association. She directs the Lumbee Indian Education Project She was also the only American Indian woman to be recognized by the state and the 1st nominee of Pembroke Jaycettes She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Theodore Maynor. the wife of Nickie Locktear. and the mother of Elizabeth Joy ana Nick Aaron. The Award was presented to Ms Locktear at the conclusion of a week of activities by the Pembroke Jaycettes in observance of Jaycette week Feb. 11-18. The Jaycettes and their families attended Sandy Plains Methodist Church on Sunday. After worship service, they enjoyed lunch together On Monday night the Jaycettes traveled to Laurinburg to visit with the Laurinburg Jaycettes. They were observing Open House as was other Jaycette chapters throughout the state. On Wednesday the Jaycettes visited with the Pembroke Senior Citizens and presented each lady with Valentine candy Thursday night they visited the Cancer Institute and visited with the patients and presented the men with after shave lotion and the ladies with body lotion The Jaycette Awards weekend was held in Greensboro on Feb. 4 ??tft-tft at the Four Seasons Holiday Inn The Awards Banquet was held on Sat.
