Clester Locklear and the assistant pastor is Rev. James "Buddy'.' Bullard. _ We praise God for this New Year, and He has been so good to us at our church through the holidays. We had a wonderful Christ mas program. A soul came to Jesus that night at the end of our program. God is really blessing the Outreach Holi ness Church. Sunday, the Holy Ghost came down in such a wonderful way and blessed our souls. We open our ddors and we had 6 people to join our church. We just praise God for what He has done and what He is going to do for us. Rev. Clester Locklear preached a wonderful sermon Sunday from Proverbs 14:12. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man. But the end thereof is the ways of death. Jesus is so soon to come we must follow Jesus and not man. ho many people are being led aatray by following man. But if you will follow the Word of Cod you won't go wrong. Pray. Let God give you the real understanding of His V^otd. There are a lot out there preaching who have been to school. But they have never been to Calvary and had their sins washed under the blood. That is why they preach you sin everyday. Because they have never been saved. God's Word said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Then He said, "He that sins is of the devil." People. He said that people who sinned were not going to heaven. And if you are sinning and expecting to go to heaven what do you have to do to go to hell? When God comes into your life. He is the one that takes over your body and does the living not you So, therefore. God U not a smiming God. You will oome out from among the world and be ye separated. You become a new person when God comes into your life. I just praise God for the peace ' and joy that he places in my heart and life. Sinner, Jesus is coming and today is the day of salvation. Get ready! May 1 say you are welcome to come be with us anytime at the Out Reach Holiness Church. May God b'ess you all. INDIAN VOICE 0 '81 Business Expectations Discussed ^ Barry O'Bnea of the faculty efBui Dtki Administration aad Economics at Pembroke State University was the guest speaker at Pembroke Kiwanis Club on Tuesday evening. He was introduced by Program Chairman Gibson Gray. ?? In his discussion of business expectations for 1961, Pro fessor O'Brien cited the con servatism approach of the new administration which will* re sult in a greatly reduced role of the government in the econo my-' Presently we have 7.5% unemployment, inflation ris ing at 10% a- year and xero increase unemployment. How did this happen? No one can explain exactly how and why it happened and exactly what should be done to correct it. What have we tried to dot Goals have been set, bat have proven non-achievable. We wanted a quick fix to expand the supply of money, but you cannot print your way to prosperity. An increase in the money supply results in an increase in inflation. The new administration is going to follow a tight money policy by reducing the rate of money supply. This means interest rates will remain high-** much u 18% and wu. have to be paid in 12 mouths time The reason interest rates are so high is to try to break the backbone of inflation. it is* n, hoped that prices wU toll after a long period of time. Busi qesses will only expand if they can make a profit. There will he much deregulation in the future. The message is that the price system will deter mine the economy's stabili zation and not the increase of the supply of money. Presiding at the meeting was Club President Adolph Dial, and Ed Teets delivered the H invocation. Singing was led by Lankford Godwin accompanied by Ira Pate Lowry, pianist. Announcement of P.S.U. Homecoming was made by Ira Pate Lowry. Tickets are now on sale at ten dollars per person, which includes the banquet on Saturday evening, Janus'-- 17th.
