In the first con test Fort Bragg will battle Coastal Carolina, all starting at 7 p.m. On Saturday night, the losers game will be held at 7 p.m. with the winners game set for 9 p.m. A SI,000 check will be presented to the. winning team in the form of an Athletic Scholarship. Tickets can be purchased from the PSU athletic office or by calling 521-9481. DONNA MOODY "ATHLETE OF WEEK" Donna Moody, a junior from Fayetteville, has been named as this week's "PSU Athlete of the Week," the last for 1981. Moody led the Lady Braves to a perfect 2-0 start and has been leading the Lady Braves in scoring. An athlete of the week is selected each week by the PSU Sports Information Office and is awarded a gift cer tificate compliments of Mc Donalds of Lumberton. $$$$$$$$< PSU CHEERLEADERS ARE A BUSY UNIT Pembroke State's cheer leading squad has been busy with all the sports events at PSU. Captain Ann Jackson, a junior from FayetteviHe. has been head of the squad as captain. Other squad members on the attractive unit include Cindy Locklear of Pembroke; Carolyn Logan of Whiteville; Deborah Dimmery of Pem broke; Arvita Fletcher of Red Springs; Sara Strickland of ' Maxton; and Liz Peel, Winkey Shellcrosslee, and Angela Suedbeck, all of Fayetteville. MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE TOUGH Pembroke State's Braves, 1-4, through their first five games have been battling hard the tough sch dule they face in 1981-82. With a youthful team, the Braves have dropped games to Radford 77-66, St. Andrews in overtime 70-65, High Point 70-62, and then rebounded to whip Wingate 81-71. PSU then dropped to Francis Mar ion 62-61. Roger Carr again leads the Braves in scoring averaging 23 points per game while junior college Ail-American Michael Southerland adds another 20 points a game to the PSU attack. The next home game for the (SSSSSSSS Braves will be after Christmas when they host Coastal Caro lina on Jan. 6. The Lady Braves dumped Wingate 89-87 in the season opener at PSU and then surprised UNC Wilmington 69-67. WBESTUNG TEAM HMDS GOOD RECORD Pembroke State's grapplers are having another fine sea son as Willie Dye, a senior from Chester, S.C. is leading the way. Dye holds an unde feated record of 7-0 and has looked very impressive in his wins to date. Dye returns as a NAIA and NCAA II Ail American. Other grappler records in clude the following: Jeff Gra ham (2-4), Mike Lilly (4-1), Damon Tobin (3-2), Freddie Richardson (6-1), Alan Davis (7-1), Eric Tyce (2-4), Geoff Losey (6-3), Barry Dean (4-2), Jimmy Simpson (4-2), and Jay Peytouse (3-3).
