Believe me, there'# a God < somewhere...and every where. For instance. I met. him in Red Springs when our? car stopped while I was taking my husband, Elmer T. Lowry, to see a doctor in Fayetteville. 1 was desperate...and did not know what to do. Then Mr. Wade Jones, a friend, and two sons stopped to help. God bless him; he came to our aid just like the Good Samar itan. Mr. Jones, even after fixing our car, would not leave us in our time of trouble. Mr. Jones sent his sons and friend on home with his car and accompanied me and my husband on to Highsmith Hospital where my husband was admitted and kept for 5 .days with a debilitating infec tion. 1 will never forget this Christian, kind act of mercy. Andthere are others who ?were kind while my husband was at Highsmith Hospital and, previous to this, when he was hospitalizedat N.C. Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, especially Mr. Earl Sheppard, who was a teacher at Pembroke High School when my husband was prin cipal there. , And Mr. Theodore Lowry j Rev. James Harold.Woods, Calvin Towry, Cathlene Lock-' iear and so many others who helped .me in this time of trouble. God bless all of you. And Mrs. Viola Parsons, a member of Willard's Chapel Church, who lined up a group from her church to make sure I never had to travel to Chapel Hill alone. And thanks to everyone who extended a helping hand and a fervent prayer in our time of need. Yes, 1 know there's a God somewhere...and every where. I have seen him in the actions and prayers of all of these generous and kind folk. God bless each of you. Mia. Elmer T. [Vera] Lewry Rt. 1 Box 430 Rowland, NC 28383 I 1 ? Or. Ro9?r R.
