THE STOBY OF ZACCHEUS
Teacher: Today our lesson is
about Zaccheus. Who can tell
me something about this
man?
J ?ha: He was the chief of the
publicans, and was so rich
that he could have anything
that he wanted.
Teacher: What was Zaccheus'
big problem?
Jack: His big problem was
that he was short.
Teacher: Why was his height
such a problem in this case?
Jerry: He had heard that
Jesus was coming to Jerico.
Since he was so short he could
not see over the people that
followed and surrounded
Christ, wherever He went to
preach.
Teacher: How did he solve
this problem?
John: Did he pray about it?
Teacher: No, we pray about
things that we cannot do on
our own. Today we should
study the Bible and use good
common sense about our
problems. Zaccheus did not
pray for a solution, he ran
along trying to see Jesus. He
couldn't, so he ran ahead and
did what, Jack?
running along on the outside
of the crowd, jumping up end
down...Oh yes to answer your
question, he found a tree
beside the road with a limb
that went across the road and
climbed out on that limb.
Teachen Careful now. Jack,
why do you say it went over
the road?
Jack: Well, the Bible says that
when Jesus came to the place.
He looked up and told ZaccIl
eus to come down.
Teachen Why did Jesus tell
Zaccheus to come down?
Jacki Well, He said. "Today 1
must abide at thy house."
Teacher: He sure didl Why do
you think Jesus said, "I must
abide at thy house?"
Johni I think our father, God,
had told him to go.
T sac hen That's right, but
when Zaccheus came down,
and welcomed Christ to his
home, what did the people
say?
Jacki The people murmured
that Jesus was going to eat
with a sinner!
Teacher: Did that make Jesus
turn around?
Jack: No!
Teacher: What does this story
tell us today? I
John: Be sure you are right, t
then go ahead, no matter
what people say.
