i extension sceni >? 1? agricultural ? ^ 1 extension mmrnmmm service 4ont o. wciiipnw f Even though we have e vest array of free educational bulletins available at the County Extension Office, we do have a few bulletins and other types of Information that are available for sale only. Two of these items of information are the Nertfa Carolina Agriculture Chemi cals Manual and the Hand book for Agricultural and Home Economics Worker*. They are both prepared by the Extension Service at North Carolina State University and are sold throughout the coun try to anyone who may have a use for them. The 1962 Agricultural Chemicals Man ual sells for S5.50 per copy, and the Agricultural Workers Handbook sells far S7.7V Even though it it our firm belief that practically every farmer and agri -business man should own an up-to-date copy of the North Ctrtihs M??nl the information con tained within the manual may be a bit too complicated for persons other than those mentioned. However, the lit tle, red Agricultural Workers Handbook contains enough information that practically anyone would find it a valu able resource. While' the booklet is quite small & fits easily into one's shirt pocket, it is fully 2SS pages long and has more information than one can possibly imagine. Even though all our agents nliw mvaetf haw training in sfJofk subject areas and have a vast amount of information at our finger fips to respond to specific informational needs of our clientele, we still find the Agricultural Workers Hand book an extremely handy devise for answering ques tions quickly for which we may not otherwise have a ready answer. As I reviewed the latest handbook for the purpose of writing this column, I noted that in the index under the ' letter A alone the subjects contained in the booklet in cluded acetonemia; adult, re sources for older; aeration of grain; aging; agricultural en gineering; agronomy; alfalfa; alsike clover: altitude on. ratios; annuals; apples; area; asparagus; aspergillosis; and azaleas. While some at these terms may be quite meaning less to some people as a heading for a specific subject matter area, certainly with this extensive listing of infor- 1 (nation only under one letter, there is practically informa tion that everyone can use listed under the many other letters of the alphabet in the index at the handbook. Naturally, practically all areas at agriculture have some information written about them; yet, to the surprise at many, there is a large amount of information contained in the handbook that is quite handy around the home. Information on stain removal as well as canning time table are examples of the home economics information contained in the booklet. While it would be impossi ble to list the complete index of all of the information contained in the handbook in the space of this column. I simply want to emphasize that a v??? Hiwiiit rt soriftiltnral One handy booklet. Certainly, with ?neli extensive informa tion. there is s wide range of home gardening, lawns, and ether landscaping information available also. This important handbook can be ordered from the County Extension Office lo cated in the O.P.Owens Agri culture Bidding in Lumberton In addition to the handbook, we have a relatively good supply of the 19112 North cola Manaale on hand, and anyone that would desire a copy of either of these publi cations should stop by the Extension Office between the hours of 8:15 and 5:15 Mon day through Friday. oooo Worry has never solved a problem and never will; so if yon are worrying, try doing some thing about your problem. ? a ? ? a* Obituary MRS.
