| LRDAIN ACTION I CENTS* FOB THBAKTS SPONSORS FASHION SHOW Continuiag in their quest to provide gifted and talented Indian students with cultu rally enriching learning ex periences, the Lumbee River Native American Center for the Arts has scheduled a Fashion Show Tuesday, May 11. beginning at 8 p.m. Admission price to view the Fashion Show, which win be held in the Pembroke Senior High School Cafeteria, will be S3. Tickets may be purchased from any Center for the Arts staff or students. Or you may pay at the door. In addition to the Fashion Show, there wfll be door prizes, bors d'euvres, and an auction of miscellane ous articles. Models will include the current Miss Lumbee, Jackie Jacobs; former Miss Lumbee. Brenda Hunt Williams; Little Miss Lumbee, Tara Nicole Sampson; and Center for the Arts students and parents. They will be modeling clothes from: 5-G's Western Wear, Fairmont Department Store, Levinstons of Fair mont, Joe Sugar's of St. Pauls, Belk's of Lumberton, Pate's of Pembroke, Fon taine's Bridal of Lumberton, and Asher-Greene Apparel of Lumberton. The models will also be modeBng hairstyles from local jt aoty salons throughout the county. Theme af the Fashion Show Will be: "An Evening With Fashions." And. hideed it will be! Entertainment will include the opening scene from "Fiddler on the Roof." Well known local entertainer, Willie Lowety, who is the Director of Creative Arts for the Center for the Arts, wffl also be performing. The Lumbee River Native American Cepter for the Arts is a component of Lumbee Regional Development Asso ciation, Inc. Proceeds from the Fashion Show will be used to fund the upcoming production of "Fiddler on die Roof," sche duled for May 28, in Pembro ke State University's Perfor ming Arts Center. There will be two productions of "Fid dler On The Roof." One at 10 a.m. and the other at 8 p.m. So, attend the Fashion Show May 11. How I ever, Lumbee Homecoming is funded entirely by donations from you, the public, or by charging a small cover fee for admittance to some of the activities of Lumbee Home coming, such as the Miss Lumbee Pageant, the Little Miss Lumbee Pageant, etc. However, the primary sour ce of income to finance Lumbee Homecoming comes from individuals, merchants, organizations, etc. who buy ads that will appear in the annual Lumbee Homecoming Brochure.So, if you are approached by an ad sales person, please buy an ad.
