Jaycee Convention, i and indeed did. they attend the 1981-82 year for the i Pembroke Jaycees was one of i the best ever. And one could tell this by the awards the Jaycees won. The most prest igous award won was the Blue Chip Award. Out of approxi mately 325 chapters in N.C. this award is given out to only 30 chapters. This award is an indication of the local chap ter's community programs. Raymond Cummings won "Top Ten Jaycees in the State." Willie Harris won' "Top Ten State Directors in State." Jimmy Goins won "Top Ten Presidents in State." He also won "The Charles Hutchinson Award." Milton Hunt won the "Free dom Award." This award is only given to three Jaycees in North Carolina. It represents dedication to the Jaycees, church, and civic government. Melton becomes the first Pembroke Jaycee to ever win this award. The Pembroke Jaycee Gub won first place in our division foe club activities for the Month q( April. They also won Ways and Means Team of the Quarter across the state. The Pembroke Jaycees were very pleased to see <uiu Serald Strickland win one of / the top ten district directors in jr the state award. Gerald truly V deserved this prestigious a- y ward. He also won a step up A in winning the regional di- f rector. / The Pembroke Jaycees also y won the Chapter of the Month u of November.
