IN THE ARMED FORCES KANDAU SCOTT Marine Sgt. Randall Scott, ton of James F. and Mary J. Scott of Route 2, Pembroke, has completed the Warehousing Non commis sioned Office (NCP) Lead ership Course. The five week course was conducted at the Marine Corps Service Support School, Camp Lejeune, NC. The cour se was designed to provide selected NCP's and Staff NCO's with advanced training on warehousing operations. The training centered on the use of warehousing equip ment and the procedures for receiving, storing, shipping, packing and preserving mili tary supplies and equipment. Additionally, students receiv ed instruction on the Marine Corps Supply publications ?used in daily warehousing operations. LONNIE L. MAYNOR Navy Seaman Apprentice Lonnie L. Jacobs, whose husband, Ray is the son at Joseph and Leotha Jacobs of Brecce St., Pembroke, N.C., was award ed the Good Conduct Medal. The Good Conduct Medal signifies faithful and obedient service during a three-year period. To earn it, enlisted Marines must achieve and maintain an unblemished con duct record for the entire period. N.C. Mr. Earl Sheppard was Master of Ceremonies Cor the evening. The invocation was given by Mr, John Earl Cummings. Since the last reinf^n in 1976, two, members have died-Mr. James Sander son and Mrs. Gretchen Revels Thaggard. There were 36 members in the dam. Marvin Chavis was killed in action and Locky Lowry Deese died several years ago. A memorial prayer was said for them. Officers for the clam are, President, Mr. Earl Sheppard Vice-PrseMent.
