A list of last year's ticket purchasers was provided and ti the Hit, the members were volunteering eagerly to go and see various purchasers. It was like the stock market on Wall Street as the different members responded when a name was called out, saying: "I'll take him!" This kind of esprit de corps will make for a great ticket drive?and a great) Univer sity. The entire community needs to be as excited as that gathering of campaign work ers were. LOWRY BARBER SHOP QUARTET OUTSTANDING A highlight of the secwud annual N. C. Indian Senior Citizens Coalition held at PSU last Thursday was a perfor mance by the Lowry Barber Shop Quartet of Pembroke. Dressed in their staw hats and red vests, they made an impressive picture on the stage of the PSU Performing Arts Center.' Members of the quartet are three brothers-Ira Pate Low ry, Theodore Lowry, and Jaao* Lowiy-and Ahrin Ray Lowry, son of Theodore. 'They put everything into their act and were warmly applauded. The audience also was entertained by the 11 mem bers of the women's Kitchen Band which used pots, pans washboards etc. in providing accompaniment to their songs. Having the 300 members of this elderly coalition cm cam pus was a big plus for Pembroke State University. Nothing is as rewarding as looking after our senior citi zens, who deserve every accolade paid them. After all, they paved the way for each arid every one of us.
