A public hearing will be held at 7:30
p.m. on August 18, 1992, at LRDA
Headstart Office to discuss LRDA's
plan to use a Community Services
Block Grant for fiscal year 1992-93.
The report on the proposed use of
the Community Services Block Grant
Funds is available for inspection at
the office of James A. Hardin, Ex
ecutive Director of LRDA and Lum
berton Energy Office. The report
will also be available at the public
hearing. Persons interested in re
viewing the repeat should visit the
office of the Executive Director or
attend the public welcome.
The following is a summary of
the LRDA Plan: LRDA proposes to
use the Community Services Block
Grant to (1) Provide Tribal Enroll
ment Services for the Lumbee Tribe;
(2) To assist the operations of 12
Indian Senior citizens chapters; (3)
To assist low-income Indian People
to be involved in activities that will
help them become more self-suffi
cient; (4) To assist Indian families to
participate in the LRDA/Lumbee
Tribe Low-Income Home Energy
Assistance Program and other pub
lic assistance programs; an (5) To
obtain help in crisis situations in
cluding food, referral services, etc.
