Delano Cummings, author of Moon Dash Warrior, visited Yvonne
Dial's English 111 class March 13, sharing information about his experiences
in the Vietnam War in his novel to the students.
The journalism classes sponsored a book drive and participated in the
event "Reading Across America". Books that were collected were donated
to the Robeson Church and Community Center and Schools. Students
have been reading various news articles and columns and sharing
them in class. This is an opportunity to promote across the Robeson
County Area.
The journalism classes visited the Robesonian, February 26 to leam
about the advanced technology and the complete processes of publishing
a newspaper.
Art students under the supervision of Delora Cummings, attended the
UNCP Art Affair on Tuesday, March 13.
Students from Purnell Swett attended AISES Day at the Indian Education
building March 12. The students toured the museum, watched a
movie, searched the internet for scholarships and filled out the FAFS A
application to receive scholarships. Shannon Oxendine visited Karen
Stickneys' keyboarding classes and talked about the transition from
high school to college. She also talked about college life and how important
it is to have computer classes before entering college. Shannon is
full time student at ECU.
