Burial followed in Lumbee Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Freeman was a veteran of
World War II and retired from Black
and Decker in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife. Mary
Freeman of the home: two sons.
John Wayne Freeman and Dannj
Mingo Freeman, both of
Fayetteville; two daughters, Kathy
Quinones of Anchorage. Alaska
and Connie Lupesoliaii of
Fayetteville; a brother, Lacy Freeman
of Lumberton; and two sisters.
Bernice Graham and Hattie Mae
Oxendine, both of Lumberton; five
grandchildren: and nine greatgrandchildren.

at his home in Laurinburg.

Baptist Church in Scotland County,

Chavis and Sterling Chavis officiating.
Burial followed in the
Stevvartsville Cemetery in Scotland
County.
Mr. Johnson was born April 3,
1947 in Scotland County to the late
Joseph and Evelyn Bridgeman
Johnson. He was a U.S. Army veteran,
a former employee of Fruit of
the Loom, and a faithful member of
Grey Pond Baptist Church.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his
wife of 32 years. Virginia Chavis
Johnson ofthehome;ason, Phillip
"Phil J" Johnson and his wife, April,
both of Laurinburg; a daughter,
Leslie "Peaches" Johnson of the
home; two brothers, Charles E.
Johnson of Gastonia and Tex
Johnson of Florence,S.C.; and a
special God grandchild, Shanna
Victoria Chavis.

Mrs. Sampson was born July 15,

John and Effie Locklear Sampson.
She was a member of Mt. Olive
; Baptist Church where she was ac;
tive in the adult ladies class of Sunday
School, a former member of the
Joyful Singers, and the adult choir.
She was also active in the
Saddletree Senior Citizens Club,
and a homemaker.
Mrs. Sampson was preceded in

He was born in Robeson
County on June 26,1927 to the late
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Locklear.
Mr. Locklear is survived by his
wife, Annie Neil Locklear of the

ofthe home and Randall Locklear
of Red Springs; a brother, Alton
"Jab" Locklear of Red Springs; two
sisters, Liza Dial of Red Springs

Mr. Jacobs worked as a roofer
and is survived by his father,

mother, Carol Locklear of
Lumberton; a son, Carlton Ray
Dixon of Lumberton; two daughters,
Sophia Jacobs of Fayetteville
and Tracie Jacobs of Pembroke;
.four sisters, Jackie Pevia and
Carolyn Lowery, both of
Lumberton, Annie Mae Horton of
Charlotte and Marilyn Shirley of
Statesville; and three grandchildren.
