POSITION: Upward Bound Counselor
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible
for providing educational, career,
and personal counseling to high
school students along with individual
needs assessment. Coordination with
community agencies for participant

residential and academic component
of the Upward Bound Program. Assist

Description of Duties: Direct and
manage a department of approximately
300 employees with an annual

designing organizational structures,
setting priorities, allocating resources
and evaluating agency's efficiency

Recruitment Standards: Knowledge.
Skills and Abilities: Thorough

basis for public welfare programs.

IN THE MATTER OF DECLARING
THE INTENT OF THE
TOWN OF PEMBROKE TO
ABANDON OR CLOSE TWO
UNNAMED ALLEYS
WHEREAS, there are certain dedicated
alleys within the Town of Pembroke
that are not necessary for the
use and enjoyment of the citizens of
this municipality; and
WHEREAS, the town possesses
the authority to abandon or close such
alleys pursuant to G.S. 160A-29
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED
BY THE TOWN OF
PEMBROKE AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Town intends to abandon
or close two alleys whose descriptions
are as follows:
those two certain twenty feet wide
unnamed alleys as shown in Block L
of the map of the Town of Pembroke
recorded in book of Maps 1, at page
17, Robeson County Registry and
being described as follows" that unnamed
alley beginning at its intersection
with Second Street and running
in an easterly direction to its intersection
with the Carolina Coastal railroad
right of way and that unnamed alley
beginning at its intersection with
Jones Street and running in a northerly
direction to its intersection with
the above unnamed alley.
2. That such alleys are not under the
authority or control of the North Carolina
State Department of Transportation:
3. That a public hearing on the question
whether to abandon or close such
alleys shall be held at 7:00 p.m. on the
5th day of November, 2001, at the
Pembroke Town Hall.
4. That a copy hereof shall be published
once a week for four successive
weeks prior to said hearing in the
CAROLINA INDIAN VOICE, a
newspaper of general circulation
within the Town of Pembroke; that a
copy hereof shall be sent by registered
or certified main to each owner of
property adjoining such alleys as
shown on the county tax records and
that a notice of the proposed abandonment
or closing and the public hearing
shall be prominently posted in at least
two places along each alley.
