had been undergoing treatment
for five weeks.
She was born in Charlotte, N. _
C., Aprl 20,, 1866, the only
daughter of the late W. H, and
Fanni^ Hpuser. She attended the
ntlblie schools of Charlotte;
thence to Barfeer-Scotia Semina
ry and to Livingstone College
where she a member of the first
^vduatinjg class t>f that school
She was married tio the late Dr.
Tones in Charlotte 'july 27, 1889.
To this union was born 5 daiigh-
ten and one son.
She was a member of the
fchool system of Winston Salem
for about 10 years where she
made an enviable record. She was
aflso active in church and commu
nity life. She has resided with
daughter, Mrs. Ida P. Jofte»,
1012. Park Road Northwest; since
March 22, 1937.
Funeral services were held
■from MeGuifc’s Funeral Homo at—
2 PM., Sunday and from the
First iBaptist Church, Winston
Salem, Monday at 11 AM. The
Rev. G. O. Bylloek presided in
Washington and the Rev. J. C..
White was in chaVge in Winston.
Ibtennent was in the famiJy
cemetery plot in Charlotte.
