trnek driver was W. P. Barnes.
Although Poliee and witnesses
said that the anrident was ab
solutely unavoidable Mr. Barnps
expressed sincere pon‘ern and
regret at having been the driv
er of the truek responsible for
Mrs. Evans death and said
that he would be willing to do
anything in all his power to try
to make up in some small way
for the unhappiness and heart
ache that the tregedy had caus
ed the family of Mrs. Kvans.
Mr. Bfirnes further stated that
one of his greatest desires had
been to have always a reeord
for safe driving and to think
that thi^. had happened to him
wotdd bi a blow that he would [
not soon get over.
The aceident oeeurred just as
h© was turning oiit of Douglas
Street into Nash going east, and
at a very slow rate of speed at
that. Aoeording to Mr. Barnes

Although accidents of this
sort are greatly to be regrett
ed it is worth while to note
that there are people to be
found who are sympathetic and
concerned enough even though

that these unexpected and un
wanted acicidents cause another
