The contest honors were a-' warded Mrs. Willie McKeithen, first prize and Miss Ruth Self, second prize. LAST RITES FOR CITIZEN OF WHITAKERS WHITAKERS — Funeral ser vices for W. M. Arrington, age 77, who died suddenly Thursday, January 24th, were held at the Swift Creek Baptist Church in Nash County near Whitakers, January 27. Mr. Arrington was for many years a Deacon of Swift Creek Church and was an accepted re ligious and civic leader of his community. He was married in 1916 to Mrs. Ida Kimball Williams. To this union was born three children, Mrs. Lenora Arrington Alston of Whitakers, and Rosa and Alonza Arrington of the home. The eulogy was delivered by his pastor, the Rev. C. H. Hie inonthly number of books bor rowed for home use has aver aged 050 for the past 4% years. The annex to, the central li brary building, which was ded icated about two years ago, in cludes a garage for the book- mobUe. The Chevrolet truck is adapted for library use with in side and outside shelving and a carrying capacity of 100 books. Adjoining the garage is a work able room unique in the fact that boolcs circulated from the book mobile throughout the county are shelved here. Library rec ords and statistic of the book mobile service aire pooled each month in this room by a trained worker. The public is cordially invited to the program.
