Lawyers Guild May Get On ^Stibversivo List WASHINGTON, D.C Whether the controversal; Lawyers Guild, which is headed by prominent Negro attorney Earl Dickerson, will go on the list of subversive organizations, may be decided shortly by court action. The Guild was notified orlgii nally by Attorney General Brownell that he proposed to desigate it as' subversive. Im-> mediately the Guild asked the U.S. District Court for the Dlsi trict of Columbia to issue a pre liminary injunction, tempora rily barring the Attorney-Gene ral. It also charged Brownell had branded the interracial group of lawyeers as Commu nist-dominated, thefeby ^ pre judging the case. The District Court rejected the injunction plea and later the U. S. Court of Appeals di rected that the case should be given a full airing in the lower court. As it stands now, Federal Judge Charles McLaughlin has under consideration a motion to declare that Brownell may pro ceed with steps to place the Lawyers Guild on the list of subversive organizations. a prize. The gentleman (or was he a gentleman?) who died stood in the back of his victim, holding him, reached in front of him and fired into ills victims chest The bullet passed thru the man’s body and into the chest of the would-be murderer. Thus a man who intended to lull and did not di« from the same, bullet he fired into another’s body. This looks like grist for the mill of the t>elievers in predes tination. But is it? Did God give the spirit of anger that was be hind that deed? Was it fate? Not in my book. The dead man did two foolish tilings. The first was to shoot at all, and the second to shoot in the position in which he stood.
