End School IhiMonthlyHeet The Adult Department of the East End School held its month ly meeting Sunday, March 13, at the home of Mrs. Pearl Gibson, 806 South Street. The meeting was opened in regular order with the President, Mrs. Gibson presiding. After a brief discussion, re freshments were served to the following persons: Mrs. C. K. Brown, Bertha Allen, Myrtle Haskins, Pearl Gibson, Olivia Harris, Anme Rogers, Mary Dove, Agne^ Henton, Rev. Ru fus Moore, Mr. Melvin Leach and Mrs. Virginia S. Mason. Mason, Re porter To Televise Contribution Of H.T. Delaney RALEIGH Judge Hubert T. Delaney’s contribution to the Edward R. Morrow Series, “This I Be lieve”, will be televised over WUNC-TV at Chapel HiU on March 27, beginning at 10:00 p.m., Richard Burdick of WUNC-TV has announced. Dr. Delaney who was born on the St. Augustine^ College campus is a graduate of the col lege in the Class of 1919, and both of his parents, Bi^op and Mrs. H. B. Delaney, are gradu ates of the College. The Delaney Building, resi dence haU for Sophomores and Junior girls, is named in honor of Mrs. Delaney. Thfl first meeting of the Bright Leal Girl Scout Council of North (Carolina, Inc., was held last night in Durham at the Carr Junior High School at 8:00 P. M. The featured speaker was Dr. John T. Bradway of Duke University, who commended' the coimcil for its far-cighted program for Girls in this area. The -meeting opened with a color ceremony. Mrs. Edwin B. Hamshar presided until the new chairman was elected. Mrs. George O. Doak of Chapel Hill presented a brief history of the formation of this council. Mrs. E. C. Bolmeier of Dur ham then presented the Consti tution, which was unanimously approved. Mrs. R. M. Ray, Jr., of Ox ford presented the slate of offi cers and board of directors. There being no nominations from the floor, this slate was unanimously elected. They are as follows: President, Mrs. Max Schlebel, Durham; 1st vlce-pre- sident, Mrs. Edwin B. Hamshar, Durham; 2nd vice president, Mrs. Royster, Henderson; 3rd vice president, Mrs. Francis Lawson, Oxford; Secretary, Mrs. J, W. TlUory, Henderson; Treasurer, Mrs. Ward, Chapel Hill; Board of Directors, Mrs. E. W. Busse, Durham, Mrs. G. C. Gibson, Durham, Mr. O. F. She first recognized Miss Virginia Suiter, Executive Director of the Bright Leaf Girl Scout Council of North Carolina, Inc. Mrs. Van Kenyon then pre sented a report of the Camp Committee, noting Uie prO' gress made in securing a camp site on Kerr Reservoir. AppU cation for a campsite has been made, the site has been chosen, and it is expected that it will be available for troop camping this coming summer. Dr. Bradway then spoke, and Mrs. E. C. Bolmeier then pre sented tr Thank You Badge to Mrs. Edwin B. Hamshar. This is the highest honor presented to a Girl Scout adult volunteer and is given for exceptional services to Girl Scouting.^ There being no further busl ness the meeting was adjourned with the color ceremony.
