THE CAROLINA TIMES SATURDAY, SEPT. *4, 1W5
Lou Krefetz's 1955 Fall Edition Top Ten Rhythm And
Blues Review To Be In Raleigh Monday, October 3
RALEIGH
Promoter Joseph Winters
announced this week that he
has set a date with the Lou
Krefetz’s Top Ten Rhythm
and Blues. Review for the Ra
leigh Memorial Auditorium.
Promoter Winters stated that
after long and much talk
terms has been agreed upon
where by the’ show will play
a one night Show and Dance
date in Raleigh on Monday
October 3rd.
Winters pointed out that this
long and much talk was due
to the' large cast in which the
show is featuring this year
causing the price to be higher
and Winters wanted to hold to
the line of the old admission
prices. The show having th«
largest total cast is costing
more than any of the other
shows to play in Raleigh. “It
was after much talk that I was
able to get a price that I could
charge the same advance sale
and general admission,” said
Winters.
The Big Five of the first
Top Ten Review will return
with this show, ^hey are; The
Clovers, that Shake a Hand
girl, Faye Adams, that Shake
Rattle and Roll man. Big Joe
Turner, Bill Doggett and his
great combo, and Mr. Huckle-
buck Paul Williams and his
big band. New members to
make the show are Bo Diddley
and his great group. Gene &
Eunice; that sensational vocal
group. The Five Keys, Etta
James and the peaches, Char
lie & Ray. Other members
from the first review include
that great sing group of
‘Hearts of Stones”, The
Charms and that sensational
master of ceremonies, A1 Jack
son, formerly of Patterson and
Jackson.
The show is a three hour
production. Because of the
large cast, there is no way to
cut it shorter and present all
members of the cast. Doors of
the auditorium will open at
7:30 sharp. The show will hit
at 8:15, on time, sharp. There
will be dancing after the show'
for what little time there is
left; but because of the long
show, there will be little danc
ing. However for those who
wish to dance there will be
dancing until 1:00 a.m.
Mail orders and tickets sale
will be filled by Thlem’s Re
cord Shop from their new lo
cation in the Ambassador
Theatre building on Fayette
ville Street and Haihlin Drug
Company. There will be only a
limited number of advance
sale tickets.
