Wal ter Curtis, Will Bane, Bruce Noel and Bennie Davis. A delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings and des sert were enjoyed by all. Other members of the club present excluding those on the program were Mrs. Laura White, Mrs. Alma Williams, Mrs. Dora Barnes, Mrs. Luna Howard and the hostess, Mrs. Roberta Edmondson. Hospitalized Miss Alma Ruth Southerland of Concord Street, is a patient at Lincoln Hospital. Mrs. Lillian Midgette Hostess Friday evening, De«ember 2, the Jr. Dorcas Club met with Mrs. Lillian Midgette at her home on Pine Street. In the absence of the presi dent, Mrs. Dorcas Overby pre sided. The Christmas spirit was in the air, everyone was happy and‘gay. A very nice collation was served by the hostess to the following members: Mes dames Rosa Suitt, Nellie Willi ams, H. Johnson, Nancy Harris, Grace Lyon, Rosetta Souther land, Mamie Weaver, Navater Wall, Sarah Smith, Esther Da vis, Annie Johnson, Charman Watson, Ellen Lann; and Dor cas Overby. Mrs, Weaver thanked the hostess for a very pleasant evening. The next mesting will be at the home of Mrs. Rosa Suitt, on Umstead Street. 6W Social Club Miss Kathryn Pierce, was hostess to members of the 6-W Sorial Club, Monday evening, November 21st, when they met at her home in McDougald Ter race. A social period was en joyed preceding the meeting. Games were played and prizes awarded the winners. Pre-Christmas Program Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4, at the home of Mrs. Roberta Ed mondson, 511 Dunbar Street, the W. B. Club, entertained with their annual Christmas dinner, and program. The opening song was “Silent Night.’’ Mrs Selfstlne Thompson brought the devotional message, and Mrs. Beatrice Noel led in pray er. It was her fifteenth birthday. ^ From eight til eleven garnet and dancing were the main feature of the evening. Bettie received many gifts. Mrs. Mitchell Entertains Club The Sylvia Williams Mission Circle met at the home of Mrs. Frances Mitchell at 2508 Otis Street for the last meeting for the year 1955. Mrs. Mitchell being ill, her daughter, Mrs. Bullock acted as hostess for the group. The living room was beauti fully decorated with Christmas flowers which gave a warm welcome to all present. Flower Lovers Feted By Mrs. Margaret Marsh On Sunday, November 27, The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club climaxed Flower month. November was designated as Flower Month, for planting of bulbs, and planting and mov ing shrubs and pansies. The group met at the Harriet Tub man Branch YWCA on Um stead Street. Gardener N. .J. Curry pre sided over the meeting. The program opened with the club song, “God Bless The Roses.” Prayer was offered by Garden er Elnora Smith. A solo was rendered by Gardener Eliza beth Bullock and presentation of the speaker, J. W., Flowers, Horticulturist at A&T College at Greensboro. His subject was “The Garden Story,” which ended with a movie that was Garden Club Closes Project For November The Azalea Garden Club met Monday night, November 28, at the home of Mrs. Margaret Marsh, on Linwood Ayenue. The Garden Gate was open ed by Mrs. Rebecca Clark, who presented a lovely reading to the club. The business session was entirely consumed with perfecting plans for the forth coming “Holiday House,” an annual Christmas project of the club. This impressive project may be enjoyed by the 'public on December 18, from 5 to 8 o’clock at the beautiful home-of Mrs. Cornelia Johnson, 1901 Cecil Street.
