The Male Chorus of St. Mark AME Zion Church, the Young Adult Choir oi Mt. Vernon and the Mt. Gilead Mule Chorus will furnish music for the occasion. There will be a tea following the program. Family Club The H&A Family Club met April 14th at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Perry, Lincoln Avenue. The club is now one year old, has 100 members. Haywood Atwater, father, has a generation of 154. Fourteen children, forty nine grand-chil- dren, 73 great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grand children. Members present; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Atwater, Mr and Mrs. Judson Lassiter, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Lassiter, Mrs Magnora Farrar and family. Mrs. Rada Prince. Retumn Home Mrs. Jessie I. Pearson has re turned from Lincoln Hospital, where she was a patient for a week. She is now recuperating at her home 126 Masondale Ave. Leaves Hospital - Mrs. Kuth Hawkins of 708 Linwood Avenue, is now conva lescing at her home, after re ceiving treatment at Lincoln Hospital. Visits Daughter Mrs, Laura Matthewson of Tarboro, spent the weekend in Durham visiting her daughter, Mrs. Georgia Singletery of 511 Liberty Street. Daughters Of Dorcas Mrs. Ada Leach was hostess to her “Dorcas Sisters” and friends on Thursday evening April 12th. This was an “Anni versary” day for Mr. and Mrs. Leach and she entertained in this “Festive Style.” The Sche duled program was on “Health" and after the important reports on the club’s work of “Love and Cheer" Mr. William Barbee gave an excellent and informa tive address on his work in the health department of the city. Mr. Barbee charmed everyone as he first told of the determina tion and courage he possessed and used in securing his posi tion. He explained the term “Heal th Education” iid not apply solely to health of body, but one’s whole being-physical mental, and spiritual. He said there must be cooperation, best results come through organiza- tion-everyone must be “commu nity wise”-in fact his talk was well worth anyones considera tion and all appreciated the op portunity to hear him. Mrs. Leach v/as most gracious and everyone received hearty welcomes in helping her two fold celebration. Caldwell and family, Mrs. Ruby Devine and family, guests pre sent were: Mrs. Dora Green, Mr. Thomie Atwater, Raymond Brown. A delirious repast waa served. The nexc meeting will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. Satterwbite. iVeekend Guests Mr. and Mrs E. A. Rogers, and Mr. Lucius Robertson of Norfolk, Virginia, spent the weekend with Dr. and Mrs. W. Woman’s Fellowship Service On Sunday afternoon April 15th at 5 o’clock, the Woman’s Auxiliary .of St. Titus held an unusual and very inspiring ser vice. The church was full and everyone enjoyed the ver splendid rendition of choice music by the excellent choir from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh. This choir of forty voices is directed by Mr. John Moore, who showed evidence of a real master of music. Mrs. Elizabeth D. The choir was served a deli cious supper in the “Parish House” and enjoyed immensely. The auxiliary is grateful to all who share in helping make this service a grand occasion. The Weaver McLean Post No. 175, The Auxiliary and Junior met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Moore’s 915 Martha Street, April 23, 1956, to cele brate Mr. Moore on his birthday. Mr. Moore has been shut in for more than a year. The program begun with a song by the group-“Happy Birthday.” Prayer was offered by the Auxiliary’s president, Mrs. Mattie Lee. C. and presently, is teacher-librarian at Mickens High School, Dade City, Fla. Miss Jones was graduated from N. C. College, with an A.B. de gree in Social Science. Sp.3. McNeill Jr. is presently serving with the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Bordeaux, France. He was graduated from N. C. College with a B.S. degree in Physical Ed. and Biological Science. He was a member of the Omega Phi Psi Fraternity and football team. McNeill is scheduled to return to the USA in late July after 26 months of oversea duty. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Dunstan Street Club Holds Regular Meet At Tilleys The Dimstan Street Neighbor hood Club held its regular mon thly meeting, Monday night, April 16th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Tilley, 308 Dunstan Street. Mrs. Josephine Perry presided, taking the place of the presi dent, Rev. H. A. Smith, who was not present. Mrs. A. W. Morris was at the piano during the opening devo tional exercise. The prayer was given by the Rev Eli Thompson. A business session followed after which refreshments were served. An expression of grati tude was made by Rev. Thomp son to the hostess, Mrs. Tilley. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Lillie Mae Washington, 312 Dunstan Street on Monday night, May 21. Members present were Mes dames Adel Morris, Portia Mc Coy, Leona Smith, Cornelia Herndon, Josephine Perry, Dora Higgins, Pearl Tilley, Lillie Mae Washington, Janie Walls, Rosa Branch, Hattie Geer and Sadie Green. they and Mr. Guy Mazyck. After the business session, the hostess served i delicious two- course dinner. Mrs. Lottie Cochram assisted Mrs. Cameron, with the serving. Mr. Guy Mazyck thanked the hostess for a delightful evening.
