JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM
“Man have you heard?”
“No, man, what?”
"Gee Whiz, Cat, The Big Night
for the Junior-Senior Pro‘m is al
most here.”
“Ah, Man Naw”.
“Yes sir, you better know it.
Do you have your date yet?
“Naw, Man, not yet.”*
“Well, what in the world are
you waiting for, don’t you know
all the girls will be taken before
long, there are not but a veyy few
now, and if you aren’t careful,
there won’t be anyone for you to
take.”
“Well, how will I go about get
ting the girl to go with me. Just
suppooe sh3 does not have a date,
and still turns me down? You know
how easy I am to get embarrass
ed.’*
•‘Great day, man, you’ve got to
jiut your fedlner ta your poclwt."
Yes, HI you might have guepfed.
Thia is a converkatioii going on
between two Junior boys. Just as
it was spoken.
'Two periods l«ter‘at the 4-A Re-
'cess Pefiod, the same two boys
have met up with each other once
again.
“Say man, you sure have im
proved your loks since I saw you
last, must have told you
that sfK would go with you to the
Prom.”
“Yes, she said she would go, but
now^that I am in it, I feel that
i have been trapped."
“Well, well, sir, what’s wrong
now? A few minutes ago you were
moaning because you didn’t have
anyone to take to the prom, and
now that ;^ou have someone to
take, you act as if you have just
had your n«ck broken. Why?”
'‘Well—-rlook at it this way, 1
didn’t know when I was best. off.
Now that I have asked , she
has decide do wear a lon^ evening
gown, which means that I will
have to rent a tuxedo. Then she
ups and tells me that she wants
four red carnations. That. means
that I will have to eat flowers for
the rest of the week in order to
get them for her. You know what
man,?”
“What?”
‘I might not havie had a date
a few minutes ago, but I was cer
tainly-a lot better off. At least I
had a few pennies to throw away,
Now I will not have enough to rat
tle.”
“Well, boys, I guess that’s the
penalty that young men pay, but
have no fear. It is always worth it.
When you see her with her gown
all [licked down to a “T”. With
not one ruffle or bow out of place,
you will really not regret it at
all.
