Jan, 17, at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. J. R. Manley, pastor, of the First Baptist, was to pre side. He was to be assisted by the Reverends W. R. Foushee. minister of St. Joseph’s CNfE Church, of Chapel Hill, and L. M.' Gooch, pastor of Markham Chapel B'&ptist Churchy of Dur ham County. Masonic rites were to be per formed at the funeral and buri al services, by members of the Chnpel Hill lodge. -Merrit was fatally stricken at his home, at 304 Sunset Drive while chopping wood Monday afternoon.
