Hart The Boy Scout Troops and the congregation of the Union Baptist Church honor ed M. C. Hart yast Sunday night in a special program at the church for his 29 years of service to the scouting pro* gram. Hart is is retiring from the scouting area after 22 of the 23 years as scoutmaster of Troop 111. Hart turned the boy scout program over to Arthur George, former as sistant scoutcaster to Hart. Dr. Charles W. Green, pas tor of the Pilgrim Baptist Church In Washington, D. C. delivered the message for the night. The male chorus of the church and the Mount Olive Echoes rendered the music for this special occas sion. Carl Young presided over the services, w. P. Edwards introduced all the scout units of the church and other visiting troops. James Point er read the scripture and Na. poleon Sanders led the pray er. Kelly R. Bryant m a d e a brief report concerning the history of the scouting pro gram here in the city of Dur ham. A trophy frcm the Occo neechee Council of America was presented to Hart by Nathaniel White. The trophy was given in honor of Hart's quarter of a century of serv ice to the Boy Scout program' Dr. Grady Davis, pastor of the church, made remarks at the close of the service. The Den Mothers of the Cub Pack of the church served refreshments in the basement of the sanctuary following the conclusion of the morit tous program.
