Appearing on the "Lunch with Evelyn Cunningham at Frank's" radio show, broad cast from a Harlem landmark restaurant, Preminger told of his filming "Bunny Lake Is Missing" on location in Lon don, without utilizing any studio facilities. & "Bunny Lke Is Missing," a | suspense-thriller, had its world premiere Sunday (Oct. 3) at New York's Victoria Theater under the chairmanship of Mayor and Mrs. Robert F. Wagner for the benefit of the Police Athletic League. In addition, Preminger's ef forts in the field of human rights and the furthering of Negroes in the acting profes sion, often in the face of criti cism, is well known. One of his first independent produc tions '#as "Carmen Jones." and he has made use of Negro tal ent in many motion pictures, including Ossie Davis in "The Cardinal." The next Preminger produc tion, "Hurry Sundown." is a story of the American South, and may be filmed entirely on location in that part of the United States. "Bunny Lake Is Missing." filmed on location in London by Preminger, stars Laurence Olivier. J—SCLC President, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., this week publicly expressed his heartfelt grati tude and appreciation for the first honorary degree bestowed upon him by a Catholic educa tional institution. Dr. King's expression of gratitude was directed to St. Peter's College, a Jesuit insti tution in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Nobel Peace Prize winner was awarded an Honor ary Degree of Laws and Let ters, his 22nd honorary degree, on September 22 at St. Peter's Michalmas Convocation. In a citation to Dr. King St. Peter's headed by its presi dent, the Very Reverend Vic tor R. Yanitelli, S. J., cited the head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference for his nonviolent struggle to break down the barriers of hypocrisy and contradiction in American Society. The citation said, "Hyppcrisy toward the foreigner has had a long life, hycocrisy toward the bies, and Noel Coward as Wil son. It was filmed in Panvi sion. A 1965 graduate of Hillside High School, she was President of her homeroom class, member of Future Teachers of Ameri ca Club and a 1964 Debutante. She was also a member of the Special Chorus, Spanish Club and the Zeno Club. Miss Shaw is a member of First Calvary Baptist Church where she is President of the Junior Missionary Circle, the Junior Usher Board and Secre tary of the Sunday School.
