Dr. Darwin T. Turner Named

at A. and T. College, who re
turned last week after a one
year leave, has been named
dean of th Graduate School.
Dr. Darwin T. Turner, former
professor and chairman of the
Department of English, as
sumed the position on June 1.
He replaces J. Niel Armstrong
who has served as acting grad
uate dean since last Septem
ber, and as director of the
Summer School.
Dr. Walter C. Daniel, who
during the absence of Dr. Tur
ner has served as acting chair
man of the Department of Eng
lish, will become chairman.
Armstrong will continue as
director of the Summer School.

the American Society of Radio
logic Technicians which is con
vening from May 28 through
June 5. Mrs. Goodwin will
represent the North Carolina
Society of Radiologic Techni
cians, of which she is president
elect. She is the first of her
race to hold this position.
Mrs. Goodwin has been a
technologist at Lincoln Hospi
tal for 22 years. She is a regis
tered technologist, having grad
uated from the Lincoln Hos
pital School of Medical Tech
nology. She received additional
