It could save your life, in case of fire. Women long worried about how to keep hems even after washing draperies, are find ing a new solution in" fiber glass draperies. PPO fiber glass draperies can't shrink or stretch out of shape dur ing washing—and never need pressing because of their built-in finish. They can be hung immediately after washing-even slightly damp —with no worry about the hems hanging unevenly. - Fiber glass draperies, which are made to look like many different kinds of ma terials, do more than add easy-care elegance to your window. PPG fiber glass draperies have excellent in sulating properties; you can save on winter heating bills because they keep expensive fuel heat in. Summer air-con ditioning bills may be lower, too, because fiber glass keeps sun glare out! TIM Ntritoi War- Marms Haig Oi- Casaaifts Hiflfc hssiais 6««s lacreasa- Washington, D.C.—ln the month of September UJ3. Marines hanging on at the American fortress of Con Thien, just below the so-called demilita rized zone, suffered more than a t) ousand casualties. Yet the pr>-ipect is f(t even heavier shelling and missile attack. Russia is promising Hanoi more and more weapons. The Soviet Union has already supplied the enemy thousands of artillery pieces and more are coning. The Marines continue to cling to the Con Thien fort because it bare the path of in vasion from the north. The American reply to the heavy shelling frommotars, rockets and conventional artillery has been counter-bombardment and aerial strikes. But though the Communist barrage has been somewhat suppressed at times it has never been completely checked be cause weapons are moved in at night and moved next day and because new weapons are constantly being L-ided. (The UJS. command views the possibility of an invasion by North Vietnamese regulars seriously and it is said some four enemy divisions are massed Just north of the zone.) Most of the Russian arms arrive in North Vietnam through the port of Haiphong and if UJS. casualties continue at their present pace, or rise, pressure for a strike on the harbor will mount. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and others have already strongly recom mended the port be put out .of action. WINNING WAYS WITH WINDOWS When you design your win dow wardrobe, remember that draperies can cloak architec tural defects as well as dec orate your room dramatically. (1) For two windows far apart on one wall, avoid the look of single pairs of cur tains. Instead, conceal the wall separating the windows with a ready-made drapery hanging straight. Use the same ready-made for over draperies at the window, tied back. Sheer underdrapenes of fiber glass complete this pretty-as-a-picture window. (2) Glass walls or picture windows can present the problem of too much light and too little privacy, but you can overcome this in high style! Fiber glass draperies provide insulation against heat and cold, while control ling lighting and glare. In ad dition, they are sheor enough to let an attractive outside view act as part of the room atmosphere, while filtering out harsh ultra-violet sun rays. They come in a variety of non-fading colors and are immune'to sun rot. FREE yjgy TOM'S OIMHOUH -3£§H?V mmmrn.
