TO JOIN MICHIGAN STATE ATHLETIC STAFF—Jerry Kim brough, athletic trainer at A and T State University since 1965 resigned last week to ac cept a position as senior as sistant trainer at Michigan State University, Kimbrough is from Statcsville. The trouble with yesterday's experience is that it is useless in dealing with today's prob lem. I doubt that anybody's heart was forever broken by a thoughtless word. SEE A. E. " West Durham Blossom Club Sponsors Picnic Hie West Durham Blossom Garden Club held its annual closing of the season picnic recently on the beautiful lawn of Mrs. Mary Allison at 521 Cecil Street. Each member brought a picnic basket from which the food was spread on tables and they along with their friends enjoyed eating to gether. Guests present ipcluded: Mesdames Alease Bynum, Mar garet Allen, Beulah Coley Kd wards, addve Coley, Mary Love, Margaret Fuller, N'aomi Parker, (lertrude Gibbson, Daisy Gunn and Miss Marv Louise Stephens. Airman Silver is a 1968 gradu ate of Nash Central High School. Nashville. * * * Technical Sergeant Harold A. Atwater, son of Mrs. Flossie J. Ewing of 712 Grant St., Dur ham, has retired from the U. S. Air Force at Seymour Johnson AFB, after 20 years service. Sergeant Atwater served as an air conditioning and refrige ration technician at Seymour Johnson before retiring. The sergeant is a graduate of Hillside High School and is married to the former Loney R. Cole, daughter of Mrs. Mary E. Cole of 3100 Archdale Road, Durham. Sergeant Atwater's father, Roney L. Hamp of 2311 Mapewood Ave., Rich mond, Va„ watches for signs of enemy activitity from a car rier while on duty at Cam Ranh Bay AB, Vietnam. The security policeman attended Henderson (N.C.) Institute.
