The professional Secreta
rial Club met with Mrs. Mildred
Davis at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Shaw on Springdale
Dr. May 19th. The hostess serv
ed a delicious repass.
For the past five years the
club has tried to have a worth
while project. This year it
chose as its project a Popu
larity Contest among the sec
retaries in the city schools.
Schools participating were:
Burton, East End, Fayetteville
St. Lyon Park, Pearson, R. N.
Harris, and Whitted Jr. High.
The first place winner was
Mrs. Medessa W. Justice, Pear
son School; second place win
ner, Mrs. Marina Moss, Fayette
ville St. School. Runner-up was

Proceeds from the contest
will be used to honor retiring
principal, J. M. Schooler, and
Miss Gloria Hester, a commer
cial student from Hillside High
School who will be the reci
pient of a $25 War Bond.
A banquet at the Holiday
Inn on June 12, has been
planned to climax the school
term, at which time secret pals
will be revealed.
