The idea was advanced by Soror Snow Bailey who was president of the chapter at that time. Their first Golden Agers Party, later changed to Senior Citizens Party, was quite successful In fact, the enthusiasm was so gratifying until the party became an annual' affair. Tuesday evening, Decem ber 15, 1970, the chapter held its annual party at the T. A. Grady Recreation Center. Over Urn hundred Senior Citizens attended. They sang carols, red tad poems, told funny stories, and bragged. They bragged about their travels, their families, fabulous hotel* they had lived in, and their ages. To further accentuate the joys of the occasion a delec table repast was served using a Christmas motif. Everyone attending received a small gift from the sorority. Senior Citizens in attend ance represented ten Senior ' Citizens Groups of Durham Albright, E. D. Mickle, St. Titus, Wailtown, Lyon Hark, Ebenezer Baptist Church. Community Baptist Church, and T. A. There was Charles Harris with his hints on how to keep healthy. Harris is eighty-five years old. The evening was one of merriment coupled > With wholesome fellowship. Thus an affair that was begun by Deltas in Durham before the City Recreation Department started activities Baltimore Reserves Areas For Skaters BALTIMORE A tradi tional Christmas present for children in Baltimore is a pair of roller skates. In the past the gifts have caused traffic safety problems as youngsters tested their wheels zipping dangerously around vehicles on city streets. This year, the city has a Christmas present for children and motorists. The mayor's safety commission plans to seal off 18 blocks in various parts of town for the exclusive use of skaters for several days after Christmas. Jean Terrell, Senator Johnson and Cindy Birdsong.
