The church woman and the
port folk). Your eyes aren't
deceiving you. The words,
*re: the church woman
and the port folio. This is not
an introduction to some sort
of anachronisim. The person
able, attractively attired young
adult juantily striding from
her car is a red-blooded, Afro
American female. Always, she
strides sprightly because she is
a busy- person hurrying from
one job to another: house
wife, nurse, missionary work
er, Sunday School teacher
and Chairman of the com
mittee for the arrangement of
devotional services for Union
Baptist Church.

lady with a port folio. A
comparatively new comer to
this position, however, she can
execute her job with the best

the competition is not some
thing to chide about. In this
field, there is no room for
hobnobbers. If you're not
tops, the demands for medi
ocrity come few and far be
tween. You carry the port
folio with the others who have
not learned the art of public
speaking - the "tricks of the
trade." Profession. Public Re
lations.
There is a demand for the
church woman carrying the
port folio if she can deliver
what the program committee
requires of an excellent speak
er. Surprisingly enough the
requisites for distinguished
guest speakers carry a much
higher rating than even the
committee suspects. So, it is a
