Durham Social Notes imnnOf Interest DAY! ffuwwafc 4T7-OTO. The MUsionary Bible Class of Mount Level Baptist Church held its regular meeting at the home of Mr. and Mis. Joseph Neal, 512 Todd St. Monday evening, Nov. 22 at 8:00 o'- clock. Devotional* were con ducted by Mrs. Rachel Jones, Scripture Mis. Emma Johnson, halms 34:1-8 and the Lord's Prayer in unison after which the president, Mrs. Olinzie Johnson presided. Secretary Mrs. Corono Umstead read the minutes from the last meeting. The Christmas party will be held December 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the E. D. Mickie Recreation Center. On the sick list was Joseph Wade, Elmer Grant, Na thaniel Brewington, William Carrington, Namon Jones and Mrs. Ammie Faucette. Also Mrs. Jennie Daye. The hostess served a deli cious repast to the following members; Mesdames Mildred Neal, Creola Campbell, Rachael Jones, Emma Johnson, Rou mania Lipscomb, Olinzie John son, Janie Evans, Syminer Daye, Virginia Hilliard, Me linda D. Harris, and Corono Umstead. Mrs. Janie Evans thanked the hostess for an enjoyable evening. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mr and Mrs. Orange Lipscomb, Ward Rd. in January. The members of the Mis sionary Bible Class extends to everyone "a very Merry Christ mas and a happy prosperous New Year." *** Mr. and Mrs. Gene Woods and family of NewPort News, Virginia are visiting Mrs. Wood's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Robinson on Lakeview Rd. *** Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Lee Jones, Jr. a new arrival of a fine 7 lbs and 11 oz. bouncing babyboy! The Perrys were accompanied with Miss Michell Parker of Washing ton, D. C. who stayed with her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret J. The Sunday School of Mount -Level Baptist Church showed the spirit of Thanks giving by giving baskets of various fruits to the Senior citizens far and near. Lots of Senior citizen's hearts were made happy and their spirits lifted high. Rev. Dunstan is the pastor. *** INSTALLATION SERVICE Service for installation of pastor at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church Williamston, N. C., were held Nov. 28, 1971, for Rev. A. L. Daye. Rev. Daye received many expressions of welcome. He is formally of Henderson, N. C. and a former pastor of Mt. Level Baptist Church, Durham, N. C. Those attending the service from Dur ham, N. C. were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Williams, Billy Williams and Wanda Williams, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. LINDA THEODORE BELL Miss Linda Janet McClinton is Bride of Thedore Bell on Sat. Miss Linda Janet McClinton became the bride of Theodore Bell Saturday in a 2 p.m. cere mony at St. Joseph AME Church. The Rev. Philip R. Cousin officiated. Mrs. Katie L. Smith was soloist and George Hatcher, organist. A reception was held at the Alfonso Elder Student Union at N. C. Central University. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McClinton of 301 Wayne Circle. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bell of Lanham, Md. For her wedding the bride wore a gown of peau de soie designed with a Victorian neckline, fitted bodice, bishop sleeves and chapel train. She carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. Miss Linda M. Members and their invited guest recounted their blessings of the past year as they fel lowshipped together, and donated a sacrificial offering to help a needy family during the Christmas season. Garden Clubs To Participate In Xmas Clinic All Garden Clubs of the City will participate in a Christ mas Decoration Clinic to be held at E. D. Mickie Recreation Center on Alston Ave. Sunday, December 5. Doors will open at 1:30 to receive arrangements. Judges will go in at 3:00 p.m. The public is cordially invited from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. Doors will close at 5:30. There will be something of interest for everyone. Come and get new ideas for your Christmas Decorations. There will also be a childrens corner. Refreshments will be served. Mrs. Sarah Cameron Returns Home From Washington, D. C. Mrs. Sarah Cameron of 903 Carroll St. have returned to the dty after spending a few days in Washington D. C. visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. Cameron reports a very plea sant trip. were Miss Cassandra McClin ton, the bride's sister, Mrs. Cameron Sanders, the bride's cousin and Miss Joy Bowman. All wore red antique satin gowns and carried peppermint carnations. Lawrence J. Bell, the bride groom's nephew, was best man. Ushers were Lawrence B. Bell Jr., Nathaniel Bell, Vernon W. Bell, Richard J. Bell and Don ald A. Bell, the bridegroom's brothers. The couple are graduates of Hampton Institute. She teaches in the Washington School system.
