and Mrs. Morrison H. Neville,
Sr., of Chapel Hill, N. C.
The ceremony was solem
nized in the Orange Cross
Roads Baptist Church, Hills
borough, at 4:00 o'clock, in
the setting of white bridal
showers, twelve branch can
delabra with fern trees, and
a Priedieu, (kneeling bench),
with a white satin pillow,
made by the cousin of the
bride, Mrs. George Nichols,
Jr. Family pews were marked
with white satin ribbons. The
bride's mother wore pink and
the bridegroom's mother wore
blue.
The Rev. Rainey Enoch
officiated. Miss Deborah Mayo
was the soloist and Mrs. Roose
velt Warren, organist. Miss
Mayo sang "This is Love" and
"More."
Mr. Earl Watkins gave his
daughter in marriage. The
bride's gown was of white silk
organza over tafetta with a
cathedral length train flowing
from an empire waist. The
sleeves were puffed and french
cuffed at the wrist. Her head
dress contained silk organza
rossettes with seed pearls and

Annual Program Sunday, July
9 at 3:00 o'clock, nils will be
a waist length veil. Miss Mary
Alice Watkins, sister of the
bride, served as maid of honor.
She wore a chartrieeuse, linen
gown with an empire waistline.
Her headpiece was a veil cap
with a green bow.
The brides maids frocked
in yellow, candy flocked
dresses with miniature daisies.
Their dresses were also empire
waisted with an added touch
of coordinating velvet sashes.
Their headpieces were identi
cal to the maid of honor's in
contrasting colors. The raids
were Miss MaKnda F. Watkins,
sister of the bride, and Misses
Eula M. Cooper, Brenda O.
Brown, and Erma J. Clark,
all cousins of the bride. The
children in the wedding were
little Miss Sherry Warren and
Master Keith Warren, cousins
of the bride, who were dressed
in white.
The reception followed the
ceremony at the home of the
bride.
The bride is a graduate of
Central High School and a 1972
graduate of Livingstone College,
Salisbury, N. C., where she
received her Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Sociology. Mr. Ne
ville is a barber in Chapel Hill.
The couple planned a motor
trip to Virginia. They will re
side in Durham.

the rehearsal dinner at The Kit
chen restaurant in Hyde Park.

friend of the bride's mother,
hosted the bridal luncheon at
The Kitchen.
The bride is a graduate of
the University of Buffalo and
is now in her second year in
the University of Buffalo
School of Social Policy and
Community Services. The
bridegroom is a graduate of
Columbia University and the
University of Buffalo School
of Law. He is associated with
the law firm of Robinson, Sims,
Gibson and Green in Bu.ffalo,
N. Y. The couple will reside
at 94 Victoria Avenue in Buffa
lo. At present Mr. and Mrs.
Garcia are on a wedding trip
in Europe.
The activities of the Garden
Club are usually ended with a
group picnic.
Officers for the coming
year were presented by the
Chairman of the Nominating
Committee, Mrs. Daisy Gunn.
The officers were then elected
and installed by Mrs. Mary
Horton. Mrs. Gertrude
Gibson was chosen as the dele
gate to represent the club at
the annual convention.
A most delectable dinner
was served by the hostess, Mrs.
Coley. She was assisted by her
sister-in-law, Mrs. Beulah Ed
wards.

MOIHIIY Meeting
The Travelette Club held
its monthly meeting at the
home of Miss Constance Davis,
Weaver Street. Many interest
ing ideas to make the Club
more successful was discussed
by all in attendance. The
fellowship and just getting to
gether proved most enjoyable
and the discussions provided
much information on methods
to improve the activities of the
club.

The First Aid Department
of Durham Ushers Union met
June 27, 1972 at 7:00 p.m.
at the home of Mrs. Louise
Harvey with First Aids of Mou
nt Vernon Baptist Church as
hostesses.
After a short inspirational
devotion service, the meeting
was turned over to our Chair
man, Mrs. Hastie Price for what
ever business deemed necessary.
We had two members visiting for
the first time, Mrs. Mary Hoo
ker from Oak Grove and Mrs.
Mattie Tile man from Gethseme
na Baptist Church. They were
made welcomed by our Chair
man. The first order of busi
ness was the reading ofthe min
utes of the previous meeting
which was adopted as read. W
listened to committee reports
which were all approved. Mrs.
Vera Owens gave a very in
teresting talk, entitled "First
Aid in the Home." Our prayers
go out to Mrs. Sarah Cates,
Mrs. Emma Umstead, Mrs. Ger
trude Breson, Mrs. Inea Jen
kins. Roll called and dues
were collected.
The next meeting will be
July 25, 1972 at 7:00 p.m
