ers to the U. B. Church fam
ily; nevertheless, they have
become so completely inte
grated in the church's pro
gram that one might easily
gather that they have always
been part 'n parcel' to the
seemingly clannish congrega
tion. The Ebony Ensemble blends
and harmonizes in the mar
velous way that is typical of
"kindred voices."
The present quartet is an
offshoot of the Lakeview
Baptist Church's Junior Choir,
on Dearborn Drive, whose in
itial meeting, on the first
day of December, 1966, was
held in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Abner Mason, Sr.
The Ebony Ensemble con
tinues to use Blue and White
as their color standard

the Ensemble. Mr. Mason
works as Meter Reader for
Duke Power Company. This
"singing parent" is a mem
ber of Doric Lodge No. 28

Mrs. Maxlne H. Mason, the
mother, works with Turn Key
111 as counselor for moderate
income families Interested in
home ownership. She is a
member of Eastern Star Pros
pectus, Chapter 397. Sewing
is her hobby. And here, at
Union Baptist, she is a mem
ber of the Pastor's Aide So
ciety. Mrs. Mason is devoted
to the Development of Youth

unbelievers will run to the

big buildings, begging them
to fall on them to hide them
from the face of a angry God.
It will be an unsual time, a
regrettable time and a very
sad time for all of us who
fail to do as Christ advises
us on His first trip. My ad
vice to all hard hearted, to
the loose and casual type and
to those of us just playing!
