To Assist Minority Businesses
CHAPEL HILL - When
black businessmen approach
Ralph Hunt for advice on
starting up a new venture, he's
likely to tell them that the
three "M's" for survival are
"Management, Marketing, and
Money"- and that if you can
get the first two going for you,
the money will come forth.
Hunt is director of an
organization that has been
helping blacks and other
economically disadvantaged
groups get the three "M's"
together for more than 30
yean- the Durham Business
and Professional Chain.
The Chain was one of the
first Southern chapters of the
National Business League that
Booker T. Washington started
in the 1930's as a self-help
organization for the black
community.

America's spiritual distiny to
raise the standard of peace in
the world. Because of its
fruitful experience in
I t deration and its great
pi ritual capacity and blessings,
America can be a prime leader
in bringing about world peace
and world order.
Inaugurated in 1959, the
day is sponsored annually by
the National Spiritual
Assembly of the Baha's of the
United States.
The featured speaker for the
Chapel Hill-Durham members

Baha'u'llah, Prophet--Founder
of the Baha'i Faith,
foretold the elimination of
war, and of racial, religious,
and of class prejudices, and
proclaim the coming union of
all peoples In one common
faith inspired by allegiance-to
one God and a love for all
mankind.
The Baha'i Faith originated
in Iran (then Persia) in 1844.
Its teachings revolve around
three basic principles- the
oneness of God, the oneness of
religion, and the oneness of
mankind.
Baha'is believe that in each
age, God sends a new prophet
to renew religion and to
provide the spiritual and social
teachings for that age.

was among the nine initial
agencies in the country to be
awarded special contracts as
"Business Development

Office of Minority Business
Enterprise.
This fall, the Chain will add
a new service to the impressive
list of ways it has been helping
minority businesses, when it
takes on a cooperative project
with graduate business students
at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. The
Chain professionals and the
students will be focusing on
the "Management" aspect of
Hunt's formula. The Chain has
invited Master of Business
Administration students who
run a volunteer consulting
project called the MBA
Business Assistance Program to
work with them in serving
some of its clients in the
Durham area.
The Chain has also invited
the MBA's to work with them

The kiost Beautiful Black
Woman fn The
Is Zeudi Araya the most beautiful black woman in the world?
"Yes!" say the editors of Players magazine who have selected her
as cover girl for the premier issue scheduled to make its debut on
the stands October 9th.
"We, expect a lot of controversey," says editor Wanda
Coleman. "Almost everybody has a selection of their own and we
might develop this Into an international contest."
Zeudi Araya is a 21 year old beauty who won the Miss Ethopia
title in 1969. Her reward, a trip to Italy, led to a single movie role
that made her a superstar overnight. The film was, "The Girl With
the Moonlight Skin." Zeudi is now the hottest property in Italy.
Her new film, "The Black Wife", is soon to be released. She is
being considered for a role in the epic production of Kyle
Onstott's "Mandingo," with Peter OToole.
Also in the first issue of Players, is an interview of Richard
Roundtree fiction by Chris Wyse and Odie Hawkins, a pictorial
feature on Hustlers' cars, articles on Scoring (Huey Newton), Red
China (Earl Ofari), and Money Making Blacks in Europe (OUie
Stewart).
