Jay Walker, Professor of English and Chairman of the Black Studies Program at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, will give a aeries of lectures in three West African countries during December under sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Walker will lecture jn Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Daker, Senegal, and Banjul, The Gambia. His lecture subjects will range from Black American literature, to Black Americans in the 20th Century and the Black movement in the 1960's. Dr. Walker, 44, graduated from City College, New York, in 1951, and received degrees from Columbia University, New York, and the University of Nottingham, England. He has served on the faculties of New York State University at Geneseo, the University of Rochester, New York, Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, and Tottenham Technical College, London, England. Dr. Walker's visit to Africa Is made possible by the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. .
