Pirfckney closed out the year with a Dance Demonstration last week at the YWCA on Urn stead Street. The class is organized in the form of a Kinder-work-shop.1 In the class, techniques for pre-ballet, modern dance, and jazz and tap are taught. There were two groups performing: Returning Stu dents: Angilique Byrd, Natasha Byrd, Tanyella Byrd, Tracy Fellers, Tarcia (Teresa) Newton, Mia Page, Tisa Page, Deborah Smith, Patricia Smith, Jacqueline Wigfall, DANCE STUDENTS and Anythia Witherspoon. New Students: Melissa Alexander Andre Pinckney, Lisa Pinckney, Karen Rice and Lisa Woods. The closing number per formed by the groups were: Shaft, Concumba, Oooh Child, Wooly Bully and Luck Be a Lady. The first part of the program was consisted of various techniques in the various forms of dance as listed above. There were approxi mately SO or more parents and friends in attendance. Assisting with the technical aspect of the program was Mrs. Edith-Johnson of Shep herd Jr. High School. Tuesday, June 14 at the i Red Cross Center located at 1000 E. Forest Hills Blvd. Topics include: Now that you are expecting a baby, Preparation for childbirth, Preparation for coming home : with your baby, Feeding the baby, Beginning life as a family, Bathing the baby and Child care through the first year. The course is specifically designed for both prospective parents, but mothers are wel come to come alone. Partici pants may attend selected or all of the class sessions and will be awarded a course certificate accordingly. Persons interested in taking the course should call the Red Cross office 489 6541 and register. There will be no charge for the course. . 1 a w i vim i wr.'i r r f i . lvau SIMS FAMILY GATHERING Sms Family Reunion Held Sunday, May 5 The family of the late Eugene M: Sims and Mrs. Laura Sims had the annual family reunion day, Sunday, June 5. Their day began with a family worship at Gethse mane Baptist Church. Mrs. Sims, one daughter, five sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and a total of sixty-nine family members presented the church with a donation in honor of their father,-the late Eugene Sims and sister, the late Mrs. Louise Sims Graves. The home of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Sims provided the warm family atmosphere food, tond memories and re acquaintances throughout the day. The highlight of the day was the presentation of a birthday cake, gifts and cards for Mrs. Laura Sims. She cele brated her 75th birthday anniversary with her entire family on Sunday. She was also surprised to receive a call from her granddaughter, Vivian Sims, who resides in California. Out of town guests in cluded: Joseph Sims and family. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sims. Bruce Sims and family, where a large unending dinner was served. Family members and friends had a day of good New Jersey; Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Sims, Thomas Sims and family, New York; Dwight Sims and family, Delaware; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sims.
