Mrs. Etta Leathers, Club Treasurer, presented the checks. Looking on are: Ronald Williams, the recipient of last year's scholarship award to the Beauty College, Mrs. Marjorie Monroe, one of the founders of the Ebonettes Club, and Mrs. S. B. Frazier, a Senior Instructor at DeShazor's Beauty College. - Ebonotfcs Club Prosonts Awards The Ebonettes Service Club, Inc. recently presented Madame DeShazor, proprie tor of DeShazor's Beauty College, a check the sum of which to be used for a scholarship for a deserving student. The Club also presented a check to Mrs. Lila Ammons to be used to assist with the operation of the Juvenile Outreach Pro gram which is directed by the Edgemont Community Cen ter. The two sizable contri butions were made from funds raised from the Club's Annual Debutante Ball. Norman Barbee, Sr., of Jones Ferry Road, Carrboro, reveals his rendition of John The Baptist baptizing Jesus which he was commissioned to paint for Terrell's Creek f Paptist Church. ., - The artist started work on the 8' x 12' oil painting about the middle of May this year. He completed it this week and it was installed in back of the pulpit at Terrell's Creek Tuesday afternoon. There are three 4' x 8' 1 panels which are hinged to-1 ;gether.
