the Wilmington Ten, Dr. Post
said "If it is ever right in the '
providence of God for the
fourth President ' of 1 the
United Church . of . Christ to
speak to the president of the
United States, in behalf of
the Wilmington Ten and the
freeing of the Wilmington.
Ten, 1 stand ready to do it."
The . General Synod
called . upon North Carolina ,
governor James Hunt to grant .
a "pardon of innocence" to
the Wilmington Ten. The re
solution also tailed on Pre
sident Carter to intervene in
