Fauntroy, who represents the District of Columbia in the U.S. House of Representatives, was the guest speaker on December 29 for the Central North Carolina Conference of the AME Zion Church's Centennial Banquet at Fayetteville State University Din ing Hall. He is a native of Washington, D.C., and holds degrees from Virginnia Union University, Yale Univer sity Divinity School and Georgetown University Law School. He has served on the House Select Committee on Assassinations, House Banking, Finance and Urban Affairs Committee. He has served as director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and is now chairman of the board of the SCLC. He is also serving as vice president of the Martin Luther King Center for Social Change and a member of the board of trustees of Virginia Union University. He has also served as vice chairman of the Washington City Council and helped . hape legislation to allow the District of Columbia to :lect its own mayor and city council. The congregation of Lewis Chapel Baptist Church, honored its pastor, the Rev. John D. Fuller, his wife and children for six years of service last Sunday after noon. Featured were Ms. Pamela Smith, a junior music and voice major from Greensboro College, Mrs. Synethia Dunn, soloist from Augusta, Ga., Ms. Beatrice Carroll of Wade and Ms. Mattie Pooler of the local congregation. The St. Joseph's Episcopal Church choir presented "Night of Miracles" Sunday past. Ms. Sharon McNair was the soloist. Stevens Ratchford Nuptials Miss Regena Gale Stevens and Alonzie Anthony Rat chford, both of Utica, New York, were married Satur day at 4:30 p.m., in the Main Post Chapel at Fort Bragg. Chaplains Calvin Sydnor and Donald G. Wilson officiated. Music was provided by Ms. Sharon McNair and Harlan Duenow. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stevens. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzie Ratchford of Bronx, New York. Miss Debbie Stevens was maid of honor. Christopher Ratchford of Bronx, N.Y., served as best man. The reception was held at the Main Post NCO Club, The bride attended Ohio State University and is a pro fessor at Utica College of Syracuse University. The bridegroom attended City College of New York and is employed in Parts Sales with the U.S. Material Handl ing Co. in Utica, N.Y. ' The couple will live in Utica. Ms. Harris is Bride of Lewis F. Mclntyre Ms. Debbie Faye Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Harris, and Lewis Franklin Mclntyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mclntyre of Atkinson, were mar ried Saturday at 5 p.m., at John Wesley United Methodist Church, the Rev. David R. Dunlap of ficiated. Wedding music was provided by Willie M. Johnson, Ms. Jamesena Brayboy, Ms. Vanessa Butler and Ms. Sherry Butler. Ms. Desdy Hill was maid of honor. Harvey Mclntyre was best man. A reception, hosted by Ms. Linda Harris, Ms. Letha Peterkin, Ms. Janice Smith, Mrs. Karen Hinton, Mrs. Chenelle Evans and Ms. Dorothy Jackson, was enjoyed by all at the church. The bride is a student at Fayetteville State University. The bridegroom is a graduate of Fayetteville State University and is currently a student at A & T State University in Greensboro. A bridal party was held and enjoyed at the Country Club for Miss Pat Crowell and Jack Russell Warner Fri day past. Elliott-Warren Vows Said Miss Frances Elliott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Elliott, and Randy Warren, son of Mrs. Maude Warren of Greensboro, were married Saturday in a 2 p.m. ceremony at the Durham Street Chapel at Fort Bragg. Chaplain George Powers officiated. Music was provided by her father annd Ms. Shirley Ray was maid of honor. James Hardin was best man. A reception, hosted by the couple's parents, was en joyed at the XVIII Airborne Corps Dragon Club. The bride is a graduate of Fayetteville State Universi ty. The bridegroom is a student at A & T State Universi ty and is employed at Cone Corp. in Greensboro. The couple will live in Greensboro. Winter officially arrived on Saturday, December 22.
