West, CPM president of Southern Real Estate and Management Consultants, Inc., as cam paign manager of his re election campaign. Tamika Lunsford was chosen-Miss Congeniality for 1980. The proceeds from this pageant will be used for local scholarships and retarded children on the local, state and national levels. (NCBM), ! has announced that the organization will focus the Sixth Annual Convention program on the impor tance of the vote on all elections, but with par jticualr emphasis on the presidential race. The 1980 convention will be held in Washington, D.C., April 17-19, at the Sheraton- Washington Hotel. The theme of the con vention, "Voting: A key to Political and Economic . Viability," encourages the participation of a wide , variety of key 'service, .business and educational .institutions, explained ' Hatcher, as strategies are i developed to mobilize (he 'constituents of our member mayors for the 1980 presidential elections. According to Michelle D. Kourouma, NCBM's executive director, the conference is expected to attract nearly 1,000 . registrants from across the country, who will par ticipate in a series of workshops to aid in the development of local municipalities. Prominent speakers, such as the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Dick Gregory, former Sen. Ed ward Brook, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, and Dr. Joseph L. Lowery will ad dress the conferees during the three-day working ses sion. Conference highlights will include an Awards' Luncheon on Friday, April 18 and the annual ; Tribute To A Black American dinner on Saturday, the 19th, featur-' ina Ms. Freda Payne.
