I f) SUfs: VpI'JsAu limp f is : ; Grand Opening Of Africa Six outdoor natural habitats for African animals will be dedicated to the public at the North Carolina Zoological Park's Grand Opening of Africa celebra tion on Saturday, June 28. Young African elephants can enjoy a quick dip in their watering hole in the three-acre elephant habitat. At the 1,371 -acre zoo near Asheboro, North Carolina, zebras, ostriches and giraffes mingle in a mixed, compatible herd. Their habitat is 1,400 feet long and 150 feet across. Other African animals on display in the natural habitats are white rhinoceros, chimpanzees, black-maned lions, and ( hamadryas baboons.
