On Friday, September 26, Evangelist Robert Bratcher will be the guest speaker for Bishop Smith's Anniversary. On Sunday, September 28, Bishop Russell and the Bi ble Way family will render service for Bishop David Scott's Anniversary in Weldon. Also on Sunday night, the Bratcher Family will sing at Shiloh Holiness Church, McLaurin St. The Noon Day Prayer will be held at 12 noon Wednesdays through Fridays. Bible Teachings are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. The Wake Forest Mission will give service on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Tarry Service is Fridays at 7:30 p.m. WILLING WORKERS TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY The Willing Workers Missionary Circle of Unio Bap tist Church, 904 N. FINANCIAL SERVICE AT ORANGE GROVE The Senior Missionary Circle of Orange Grove Bap tist Church, 505 East End Avenue, will have their Financial Service, Sunday, September 21 at 4 p.m. Rev. Marcus Ingram and his choir from New Hope Baptist Church, Chatham County, will be the guest. Rev. James Daniel is the pastor of Orange Grove. BIBLE STUDY CLASS AT FIRST CALVARY The Baptist Training Union of First Calvary Baptist Church is planning a Bible Survey Class each Friday evening beginning at 7 o'clock. The class will start with the Book of Genesis and proceed through the Book of Revelation, and will be taught by Mrs. Eva M. Pratt, a former teacher in the Durham City Schools. She was also a teacher of Bible in William Penn High School, High Point. The pastor, Rev. Vernon S. Thompson, will also give instruction. The public is invited to attend. There is no fee. REV. BENNIE GRIFFIN GOES TO NEW METROPOLITAN Rev. Bennie Griffin, Jr. is the new pastor elect at New Metropolitan Reformed Free Will Baptist Church, 100 W. Enterprise St. Rev. Griffin, a native of Wilmington, is an graduate of Lenoir . Community College and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Education from the University of; Maryland. He has attended the Shaw University Divini ty School, Raleigh, and Manna Bible College, Philadelphia, Pa. having received the Bachelor of Theology degree. Rev. Griffin is a retired U. S. Army Captain. He is a member of the Reformed Free Will Baptist Conference. He also holds memberships in the Living Hope Lodge No. 507, LaGrange, Alexander Consistory No. 228, Kinstqn and Goldsboro Chapter, NAACP. Rev. Griffin has held pastorates at Moore's Chapel AMEZ Church, LaGrange; St. Paul AMEZ Church and McNeil Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, Dunn. He is married to Mrs. Sadie E. Griffin of Wilm ington. Zion Church, Dunstan Street, Sunday, September 28. The speaker for the occasion will be Mrs. Arletha Greene Freeman. Mrs. Freeman, a native of Sampson County, is a graduate of Shawtown High School in Lillington. She holds a B. S. in History from Shaw University and a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology from North Carolina State University. Presently, she is employed in the Wake County Public School System as a counselor at Fuquay Senior High School. She is married to Dr. William F. Freeman, pastor, Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. DURHAM COUNTY MISSIONARY UNION TO MEET AT WEST DURHAM ' The Durham County Missionary Union will meet at West Durham Baptist Church, Sunday, September 28 at 3 p.m. Wanza McAuley will lead the Installation Ser vices. FIRST AID DEPARTMENT MEETS The First Aid Department of the Durham Ushers Union met recently at New Bethel Baptist Church. Devotions were led by Mrs. Hestie Price. HENDERSON'S NEW BETHEL TO BE DEDICATED HENDERSON The minister and congregation of New Bethel Baptist Church, 619 East Avenue, will dedicate the its newly constructed church building, Sun-. day, September 28 to the social and spiritual uplift of the poor and downtroden. Rev. J. H. Bryant, New Bethel's minister, will stress the total involvement of the church in civic, social, and political affairs of Henderson, Vance County, the state and nation. THELMA LENNON TO SPEAK FOR WOMEN'S DAY KNOXVILLE, TENN Mrs. Thelma C. Lennon of Durham, N. C, Deputy Assistant State Superintendent, Department of Public Instruction for the State North Carolina, will speak for Women's Day at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1601 Dandridge Ave., Sunday, September 28 at 11 a.m. Her topic will be: Christians Committed to the Fulfillment of God's Purpose. This is one of the many observances during the 125th Anniver sary Year which will be celebrated in November. A special Women's Day Chorus will present music and the women of Mount Olive will be totally in charge of the service.
