Clement, former executive vice president of North Carolina Mutual Life In surance Company, was unanimously elected Most Worshipful Grand Master ."of. the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina and Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliation, at its 110th grand communica tion held in Greensboro Thursday, October 9. The convention host was In vincible Lodge Number , 251 and St. John's Lodge t Number 12 of' Greensboro. The Lodge of Sorrow was held on Tuesday, Oc tober 7, at St. James Bap tist Church. The pastor, Rev. Prince Graves, was the speaker. Remaining1 sessions were held at the Holiday Inn Four. Seasons. i William C. Parker, Jr., ! was the guest speaker at : the past masters luncheon on Tuesday. , Clement, who was elevated from the office of the Right Worshipful Grand Secretary To' the' Most Worshipful Grand Master, was the speaker at the Worshipful Grand Master's breakfast. Approximately 600 per sons attended the Annual Fellowship Banquet on Wednesday, October 8. The honorable Richard E. j Erwin, Judge, Federal Middle District Court, was the speaker. On Thursday, October 9, the grand lodge received the grand officers and members of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Knights of Pythagoras. During the awards ban quet, contributions were made to many of the organization's beneficiaries. Among the awardees were the Central Orphanage of North Carolina, Oxford $20,000, NAACP $10,000, United Negro College Fund - $1,000. Approximately $33,000 is to be awarded in scholar ships. . The organization represents some twenty thousand Prince Hall 1 Masons in the jurisdiction, of North Carolina.
