"Under his ad ministration, the Six Point Sunday School system is in operation. The church also serves as one of the points for the College without Walls sponsored by Shaw University. A state-licensed Nursery School is now in operation with Ms. Elizabeth Sellers as director. The nursery school also has certifica tion and federal approval. A well-equipped playground is provided as well as comfortable classrooms. Many - improvements have been made which fh elude a paved parking lot at-a cost of more than $8,000.00. Counseling is offered in Courtship and Marriage, Care of Senior Citizens and other aspects of Fami ly Life. Bible Study is of fered weekly. From the building 20 x 30 in 1892 to the present structure, valued at $500,000.00, the church has had many varied ex periences which helped to prepare eafch generation for outstanding contribu tions to-the world in which they find themselves. The cooperative pro gram with the Baptist Stu dent Union of Duke University, as well as related experiences with Duke while located bet ween the East and West Campuses, marks a milestone in the church's development. West Durham Baptist Church, now relocates in Southeast Durham, 'still seeks to be a community church as before.
